Report – Induction Day Inauguration

The Induction Programme for the BMS Batch 2025–2028 at GNIMS Business School was organized to familiarize students with the academic environment, institutional culture, and opportunities available during their undergraduate journey. The programme aimed to help students transition smoothly from school to higher education while building confidence and clarity about their academic path.

 

The formal inauguration of the programme was held on 17th October 2025 at the GNIMS Campus Multipurpose Hall. The event began with prayers and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by addresses by Dr. Satvinder Singh Bedi, Director of GNIMS; Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Director of GNIMS B School and Head of IT and HR; and Chief Guest Erander Singh Tak, Partner – Digital Transformation at Persistent Systems. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, after which students attended a library orientation and guided campus tour.

 

The academic induction sessions were conducted from 27th October to 31st October 2025. The programme commenced with sessions by Prof. Praveish Aiyer on Indian Management Thoughts and Practices and Indian Knowledge Systems, introducing students to India’s managerial heritage and its relevance in modern business and society.

 

On the second day, Dr. Shivaprasad Murugan conducted a session titled BMS Road Head, where students were briefed on the curriculum structure, evaluation methods, academic expectations, and career opportunities associated with the BMS programme. Dr. Kuljeet Kaur also introduced students to the library resources and digital learning facilities available at the institute.

 

The third day focused on management skill development. Dr. Harpreet Kaur conducted a session on Business Communication and its Applications in Management, emphasizing the importance of communication skills in professional settings. This was followed by a session by Prof. Rahul Chopra on Marketing Management, where students were introduced to basic marketing concepts and current industry trends.

 

The programme also included wellness and recreational activities to encourage student engagement and holistic development. Students participated in Zumba, indoor games, and yoga sessions coordinated by Shivani Khole and Prof. Balvinder Singh Reel. The induction concluded with a session by Mrs. Sarita Jha on the implementation of NEP 2020 in the BMS programme.

 

Overall, the programme successfully combined academic orientation, skill enhancement, and wellness activities, providing students with a positive and confident beginning to their academic journey at GNIMS Business School.
