Campus Placement Drive – InSync Analytics CAMPUS PLACEMENT DRIVE REPORT   InSync Analytics Pvt. Ltd. conducted a two-day Campus placement drive on 19th & 20th October, 2023 at Guru Nanak Institute Of Management Studies (GNIMS), Mumbai.   InSync Analytics is a leading fintech provider of fundamental company models, custom consensus estimates, and outsourced analyst services. InSync Analytics provides an array of high quality, bespoke financial modeling and analytical products/services across various sectors and asset classes. Work ranges from plain vanilla to more creative, financial analytical solutions for our clients.   InSync Analytics is a women-owned business. Ms. Pinkey Jain, co-Founder and co-CEO, previously, worked as an investment banker at JP Morgan and Harris Nesbitt in New York in the Global Telecommunication, Media and Technology coverage group. She has executed more than $15 billion of M&A, corporate finance and other advisory assignments. Ms. Gunbir Sethi Gauba, co-Founder and co-CEO, worked at Banc of America Securities as an Equity Analyst in the Global Media team and was a key member of the II ranked Broadcasting team. Previously, she was an Investment Banker at JP Morgan in the Global Industrials group, NY, executing over $10 billion of advisory transactions. InSync Analytics includes professionals from the banking, research and corporate sectors, with degrees in business, engineering, CFAs and MBAs. All employees undergo rigorous in-house training in industry / company research methodologies, modeling GAAP / non-GAAP and other accounting techniques, valuation metrics and compliance requirements.   Panel of six members, Ms. Sunandini Raghavan (HR Head), Mr. Mohammed Jahir Shaikh (ISTARI platform Head), Mr. Rajann Upadhyay (Training & Recruitment), Mr. Nitesh Ghate (HR payroll and operation), Ms. Swetha Philip (Training & Recruitment) & Ms. Priya Chaurasia (HR- Campus Recruitment) came searching for suitable talent by conducting student interviews of skilled Finance graduates for the position of Financial Analyst – Band 1.   The Panel members were welcomed with bouquets and Memento as a token of appreciation and respect. Panel members expressed their wish to conduct Campus recruitment drive next year also.   The programme was coordinated by Ms. Anitha Menon (Training & Placement Manager), Mr. Chinmay Khadapkar (Training & Placement Officer), Mrs. Satroop Kaur Minhas (Placement Coordinator) and Ms. Chanda Rajak (Assistant Placement Co-ordinator). The programme commenced with a warm welcome of InSync Analytics recruitment team. This was followed by a small presentation (pre-placement talk) by Mr. Mohammed Jahir Shaikh, which gave a detailed knowledge of the company and the job role.    After the pre-placement talk, following rounds of interview were conducted: 1. Online test (In- campus) 2. Operations Interview (In-Person) 3. HR Interview (In-Person).   Around 69 candidates participated in the campus recruitment drive, out of which 47 candidates were qualified after the first round. Qualified candidates were then assessed on their subject knowledge and communication skills after which 12 candidates were shortlisted and selected by InSync Analytics.   Overall experience and feedback of InSync Analytics recruitment team was very positive as the need of their organization to search the right talent to drive its business objectives were fulfilled by the students and the Campus Recruitment Drive conducted by us.   Our In-Charge Directors, Dr. Satvinder Singh Bedi and Dr. Jasbir Kaur, motivated & supported in every aspect for the successful conduction of this campus drive & quoted how such programmes were essential for boosting the confidence of students and for the strong image of our Institute by building a bridge between prestigious Management organisations and GNIMS.

GYANVARDHINI – SESSION 6 What a fantastic session we experienced on “Introduction to Behavioral Finance” held on 6th October 2023 by the incredible Prof. Kapil Bhopatkar.   He has shown the procedure of how the human brain works and processes the information that one receives. He spotlighted how psychological, cognitive, and emotional factors influence financial decision-making and market outcomes. It explores how human biases, heuristics, and emotions can lead to deviations from traditional economic theories, affecting investment choices, risk tolerance, and market trends.    Understanding these behavioral aspects is crucial for investors and policymakers to make more informed financial decisions and design effective strategies that account for the human element in financial markets.   Once again thank you to all our esteemed GNIMS Faculty members who attended and actively participated in this insightful event. Guest Lecture on Supply Chain On 1st October, 2023 As part of subject specific guest lecture series, Mr Akashpreet Singh, Regional Supply chain optimization manager at Dr Oetker joined us from Guelph (Canada).   He is a seasoned logistics and supply chain leader with 10 years + experience in retail, pharma and omnichannel /ecommerce distribution;     Mr Akashpreet Singh threw light on the supply chain challenges faced by Indian businesses vis a vis their counterparts in first world countries.   Mr kartikeyan Iyer , Associate Directorin Xpressbees logistics He has 15 years experience in selling logistics and supply chain solutions to large enterprise customers.  He  explained the concept of Incoterms. These widely-used terms of sale, are a set of internationally accepted rules which segregate the responsibilities of sellers and buyers. His talk focussed on the importance of Resilient supply chain and how  organizations the world over are trying to reduce their operational costs due to an efficient supply chain .    Both speakers highlighted the importance of Supply chain and logistics management for better product and brand management. 

Large-Scale clean up drive at Mithi River

Large-Scale clean up drive at Mithi River GNIMS supports Bhamla Foundation for a large-scale clean up drive at Mithi River Join hands to make a difference to Mother Nature.   Date :16th September 2023 Time : 07:00 a.m. Meeting Point : Mahim Creek, Mumbai Point of Contact : 8169948780,Whatsaap 9320922220 It was a beautiful rainy Saturday morning when GNIMS MMS 2023-25 batch 75 students participated in Mega Cleanliness Drive at Mithi River, Mahim.   The social initiative was organized by Bhamla Foundation supported by Earth Poetry.Every third saturday of September is observed as International Coastal Cleanup Day. Around 08:00 a.m we saw teams in action wherein they selected a patch overloaded with garbage of various kinds.Students segregated the waste and contributed to Mother Nature.   Students understood the challenges of waste management and thereby took a vow to reduce,reuse and recycle and contribute in their own way to protect Environment.

GYANVARDHINI – SESSION 5 Dr. Sangeeta Pawar: A renowned expert in teaching and research, Dr. Pawar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Her passion for research methodology is truly inspiring!    23 years of diligent postgraduate teaching career in commerce and management and research experience of 10 years.   Publications in more than 60 journals of international and national repute with ISSN and ISBN numbers. 7 impact factor research papers. Evaluated more than 20 PhD theses of several state universities and conducted Vivas.    Recipient of best teacher award at the state level and university level for sincerity and dedicated work in academic and social areas.  Elected senate member of the University of Mumbai.Member of a prestigious group of academic and administrative importance.    Keynote speaker and chief guest and resource persons in more than 100 conferences, seminars, and workshops.   Accolades acclaimed by way of trophies, dignities, and momentums on several academic and social platforms   Key Takeaways: In this session, Dr. Pawar delved deep into research problems. Her insights were not only informative but also thought-provoking. Guest Lecture on Cybersecurity Shri.D Sivanandhan Sir’s guest session on cybersecurity provided valuable insights into the complex and dynamic world of digital security. His discussion of the evolving threat landscape, the human element in cybersecurity, the role of AI, governance and regulations and the future outlook left the audience with a deeper understanding of the challenges and strategies in safeguarding our digital world. It also served as a timely reminder of the importance of cybersecurity in safeguarding our digital future.  

MMS Induction 2023

MMS Induction 2023 MMS Batch 2023-25  was inaugurated on Tuesday, 5th  Sept, 2023 with the addressal of our In Charge Director MMS Dr. Satvinder Singh Bedi and Dr. Jasbir Kaur In-charge Director PGDM. Directors addressed the students about the dynamic environment of today’s management, history of the institute, its memories and basic discipline.   Students were addressed by Honorable Guest of Honor  Mr. Harish Menon Ex-Vice-President at Tata Sons Ltd, An angel investor & mentor to young professionals. Mr. Harish Menon interacted with students about today’s corporate world and their expectations at the grass root level. She also explained about competencies required from an MBA student irrespective of all specializations i.e. Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations or Information Technology.  Students were guided by Chief Guest Mr. Shantanu Garg Vice President Special Projects (Biz Growth) at Grasim Industries Limited. Mr. Shantanu Garg explained future managers how to approach management course for next two years and skillsets required to be an employable MBA graduate in future.   Last session was of Dr. Sameer Salunkhe (Class Coordinator of MMS) in which Students Handbook was explained in detail, Ms. Anitha Menon Head CDC addressed students about placement policy and rules, Ms. Channpreet Kaur Bhatia (Faculty HR) explained about vision and Mission of the institute. Prof. Bins Mathew (Controller of Examination) addressed students regarding university exam rules and lastly Dr. Kuljit Kalhon (Head Library) gave information regarding library resources available at GNIMS. All these sessions helped students to know culture, basic rules and regulations of the institute.

GYANVARDHINI – SESSION 4 Gyanvardhini Session – Gamification of/in Management Education   Today’s gamification session by Prof. Channpreet Kaur was nothing short of exhilarating! We embarked on an engaging journey that seamlessly blended fun and learning. Participants were actively involved in various challenges and activities that not only piqued their competitive spirit but also enhanced their problem-solving skills and teamwork.    The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as everyone eagerly embraced the gamified approach to tackle complex concepts and tasks. Through this session, we discovered that gamification is not just a tool for engagement but a powerful catalyst for motivation and knowledge retention. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of accomplishment, leaving everyone excited for the next adventure in our quest for knowledge and skill development.
