JNPT Port Visit

JNPT Port Visit On December 6th, 2023, 114 MMS Semester III students and 3 faculty members embarked on an insightful visit to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s foremost maritime gateway. The visit provided a firsthand experience of the dynamic operations of one of the nation’s largest and most advanced ports. Students had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge facilities, witness sustainable practices, and understand the pivotal role JNPT plays in global trade. The immersive experience delved into the intricacies of logistics, container handling, and showcased the seamless integration of technology. This visit offered valuable insights into the strategic and efficient operations propelling India’s maritime success.

Visit to Palladium Phoenix

Visit to Palladium Phoenix MMS Sem III students were taken to palladium phoenix mall in lower parel on 25th November for a market visit . This initiative was taken to  give students a first hand idea of product and brand management . Visit to Mahananda Diary

Visit to Mahanand DAIRY MMS (2022-2024) Sem III Marketing Students visited Mahanand Dairy on 21/11/2023. Students learnt many aspects of marketing including Product development, Procurement, inventory Distribution, Quality Control, Production processes, Packaging, Complaint Handling, Customer Service etc from the authorities of Mahanand Dairy. This visit was organised by Centre of Marketing Excellence, GNIMS for the subject of Services Marketing under the guidance of Dr. Jyoti Pawar. Prof. Subhash Yadav and Dr. Jyoti Pawar accompanied students during this visit.

Campus Recruitment (IIFL) Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies (GNIMS) hosted a triumphant campus recruitment drive on November 20th, 2023, setting a new standard for connecting talented graduates with renowned industry players like IIFL Home Loans. Mr. Keval Gogri’s insightful presentation ignited student interest, followed by rigorous interviews that identified six finalists for their technical prowess, problem-solving skills, and alignment with IIFL’s values. GNIMS students’ enthusiasm and financial acumen impressed the recruiters, solidifying the institute’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready professionals. The drive, coordinated by Ms. Anitha Menon and her team, concluded with Dr. Satvinder Singh Bedi and Dr. Jasbir Kaur expressing gratitude to IIFL and reaffirming GNIMS’ dedication to providing exceptional career opportunities for its students.

Industrial Visit Jaipur – Kishangarh – Ahmedabad Industrial Visit Jaipur – Kishangarh – Ahmedabad : A Glimpse into Innovation and Excellence Our recent industrial visit to Jaipur-Kishangarh-Ahmedabad from 31st October to 6th of November 2023 for MMS batch 2022-24 proved to be an enlightening journey into the heart of the manufacturing, service and distribution sector. Set against the backdrop of Jaipur’s vibrant cultural tapestry, the visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.   The journey kicked off with meticulous preparations, where we immersed ourselves in understanding the intricacies of the companies we were to visit. The anticipation was palpable as we set foot in Jaipur, a city known not just for its historical charm but increasingly as a hub for cutting-edge industries.   Over the course of 6 days, we delved into the operations of leading companies like BMVSS Jaipur Foot, Shreenath Marbles and Kishangarh Marble Association. Each visit was a unique exploration, revealing the secrets behind manufacturing processes, innovative technologies, and sustainable practices.   One of the highlights was the opportunity to interact with industry professionals who generously shared their experiences and offered invaluable advice. These interactions went beyond the boardrooms, providing us with a glimpse into the real-world challenges and triumphs of professionals in the manufacturing and service sector.   In addition to industry visits, cultural activities, including visits to Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, city palace, Hawa Mahal and Kishangarh dumping ground (shooting point) along with local markets, and Sabarmati Asharam and Sabarmati river front provided participants with a holistic experience of Jaipur, Kishangarh and Ahmedabad. Conclusion: The industrial visit to Jaipur proved to be an enriching experience, aligning with the educational objectives of providing practical exposure. The insights gained are invaluable for academic and professional growth.

Pool Campus Placement Drive

Pool Campus Placement Drive IDFC FIRST Bank conducted Pool Campus recruitment drive on 27th October 2023 Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies (GNIMS), Mumbai for the post of ‘Virtual Relationship Manager (VRM)’. Panel of Four members, Mr. Awanish Gunjan (National Sales Lead), Mr. Udit Sood (Talent Acquisition Lead Liabilities), Mr. Roshan Varghese (Talent Acquisition Manager) and Ms. Sampada Samant (Talent Acquisition Associate Manager) came for searching suitable talent by conducting student interviews.   IDFC FIRST Bank is the first and only bank in India that offers Zero fees for 28 essential services on savings accounts including for ATM cash withdrawals, IMPS, RTGS, NEFT, Cash Deposits and Cash withdrawals at branches, SMS Alerts, Cheque book, Demand Drafts, Pay-order, duplicate statements, etc. It is also the first bank to offer monthly credit on savings accounts.   The programme was coordinated by Ms. Anitha Menon (Training & Placement Manager) and started with warm welcome of IDFC FIRST Bank team. This was followed by a pre-placement talk by Mr. Udit Sood which gave detailed knowledge of the company. After that group discussion was conducted, students qualifying the group discussion were then interviewed personally by the IDFC FIRST Bank team.   Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth- Pune, Ramachandran International Institute of Management (RIIM)- Pune, Sri Balaji University (SBUP)- Pune, Thakur Institute of Management Studies & Research (TIMSR), Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Management (VESIM), Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies (DSIMS), Amity University- Mumbai are few of the colleges who participated in the Pool Campus recruitment drive conducted by IDFC FIRST Bank. Around 110 students from different colleges had participated in the pool campus interview drive and 35 students qualified after group discussion for personal interview. Qualified students were then interviewed personally by Ms. Sampada Samant & Mr. Roshan Varghese and shortlisted for the final interview round that was conducted by Mr. Udit sood and Mr. Awanish Gunjan.   Overall experience and feedback of the IDFC FIRST Bank team was very positive as the need of their organization to search the right talent to drive its business objectives is fulfilled by our students. Students were happy because they know that working with IDFC FIRST Bank is the right environment to grow and achieve their career goals. Programme was concluded by giving gifts as a token of appreciation and respect to the panel members. Panel members were very keen in conducting Campus recruitment drive next year also.    Our In-Charge Directors, Dr. Satvinder Singh Bedi (MMS) and Dr. Jasbir Kaur (PGDM), motivated and supported in every aspect for the successful conduction of this pool campus drive and quoted how such programs were essential for boosting the confidence of students. Mr. Subhash Yadav (Assistant Professor – Marketing Management), Mr. Chinmay Khadapkar (Training & Placement Officer), Mrs. Satroop Kaur Minhas (Placement Coordinator) and Ms. Chanda Rajak (Assistant Placement Co-ordinator has taken efforts for the success of the program.

GUEST LECTURE ON DEI DEI generating new ideas on campus!!! All Second year MMS & PGDM HR students attended an online guest lecture on ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ as a part of the course ‘HR Planning & Application of Technology in HR. ’The resource person was Ms. Snehlata Bhigte Kirve, DEI & CSR Lead – Morningstar. Ms. Bhogte started the session introducing the concept of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and various aspects associated with it. She narrated her journey as an HR Business Partner and then DEI. She creates awareness about DEI and urged future HR professionals towards the concept. All students were sensitized and there were lot of takeways.

Sewaa at the College Gurudwara

Sewaa at the College Gurudwara Sewaa at the College Gurudwara All PGDM 2023-25 batch students were ready in class 502 excited to do the team activity. Every year before Diwali GNIMS students clean the college Gurudwara,As a part of the topic ‘Social Responsibility in the course ‘Contemporary Management Practices’.The event started with student group prayers. Students were divided in group of five each.They were given various areas in college Gurudwara.Girls cleaned the kitchen Gurudwara, some wiped the fans.The boy gang was wiping the ceiling fans.It was done in the team spirit and all enjoyed working as a team. Many were doing sewaa for the first time, some felt great, others said it was gave them a sense of fulfillment.
